Alternative Spring Break New Orleans

March 14th-20th, 2020

Join the St. Louis Reform Congregations on an Alternative Spring Break March 14th-20th, 2020!  We will explore New Orleans, volunteer and learn together, all while repairing the world!  All high school students welcome to spend a week volunteering while deepening their connection to each other and the Jewish community.  Trip will include: 

  • Four days of volunteering 

  • Delicious food (including beignets)

  • Tourist attractions

  • Tour of Tulane University

  • Learning about the Civil Rights Movement and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina

  • Bonding with other teens across the St. Louis area

  • Stops in Jackson, MS and Memphis, TN

We will volunteer with Youth Rebuilding New Orleans, an organization that builds homes for teachers in the New Orleans area.  Trip will leave the morning of March 14th, and return in the evening on March 20th.

Early bird: $620 until December 15th

Regular: $695 until January 31st

After February 1st: space available basis

CRC: Rabbi Karen Bogard is an entry point to Jewish life, designed to expose our community to the wide variety of Jewish opportunities for teens in St Louis. It is a project of the Reform Teen Initiative whose member congregations include United Hebrew Congregation, Congregation Shaare Emeth, Central Reform Congregation, Congregation Temple Israel, and Temple Emanuel.
